India has inherited vast and profound knowledge. However, it was not taught to students because the British did not want to let Indians know how profound their heritage is. They even told the students that it is not worth anything! It was a lie, which was intended to undermine their self-confidence.

Yet fortunately, the New Education Policy with its inclusion of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), makes Indians again familiar with their profound and vast heritage which encompasses all fields – from philosophy, science, arts, music, economy, medicine, architecture, metallurgy, astronomy and down to food and even warfare.

I consider India’s Vedic philosophy, Advaita Vedanta, as the foundation of it all, because it is about our eternal Self from where true love and inspiration come. The other aspects of Indian knowledge are meant to help us during our lifespan in this world, which is of course also important, but ultimately this lifespan is more like a dream or Maya.

A lot of Indian knowledge (we don’t even know how much and what knowledge) has reached the West, often by looting, and it inspired science and philosophy in a big way. Many foreigners also have discovered Advaita Vedanta. There are now numerous videos on the net which claim that “the basis of everything is consciousness”. This claim has its origin in ancient Indian texts, but they usually do not mention it.

Also, the theory, that our universe is not real, but a kind of simulation, is now taken seriously in the West, since Elon Musk also stated it. The Rishis called this simulation ‘Maya’.

I wished, those foreigners would acknowledge that the ancient Indian Rishis had handed this knowledge down…

Here is an example from a ‘political’ German podcast where spiritual topics arose:

Before the German election on 23. February 2025, I watched an interview with a popular radio journalist and podcaster Kayvan Soufi Siavash (Ken Jebsen). He has a German mother and an Iranian father. Kayvan had become ‘controversial’, because he now endorsed the ‘right-wing’ AfD party. Earlier, he had supported the Left, and the interviewer wanted to know what made him change his views.

I had expected that he talks about politics. But surprisingly, he talked a lot about philosophy, more precisely, about Indian philosophy. He said that he believes we are like actors on a stage and, like Elon Musk, he also feels that our world is not the real thing.

He further said, the most important thing is to find out ‘who am I?’ and this cannot be done by thinking.

He said, like most journalists, he is thinking a lot, but he wants to give up thinking and explains: “for example, when I read something, afterwards, I try to forget it. But the knowledge is there of course. Now, when I speak on a podcast, I consciously take the risk to let my words flow without thinking. Then something higher takes over and I am myself surprised “did I really say this?” He stressed that there is something, which looks after us and which “stands behind you when nobody else stands behind you.”

“What do you mean? Do you mean God?” the interviewer asked. Kayvan replied, “You can call it God or Shiva. It is a higher level of consciousness, and it supports you, when nobody else stands by you.”

Kayvan is clearly familiar with Indian philosophy. And if it needed a proof, the fact that he mentioned Shiva is proof. He also mentioned that he is very intense on his yoga mat. This interview confirmed what I had noticed earlier: many are in search for the Truth also in the West. Many go back to Christianity, because they don’t know anything else, but many also discover India’s wisdom, like this podcaster, even though Hindus do not make much effort to spread this valuable knowledge.

But this interview also gave me pain. Because many Indian youths may not even understand what Kayvan was talking about, for example, when he said, that the most important thing in life is to find out “Who am I?”

Even today many Indians don’t know, that it is the knowledge of their Rishis when foreigners talk about ‘all is consciousness’ or ‘the world is Maya”. Many have never heard: ‘Brahman Satya Jagat Mithya’, which means Brahman is real and the world is an illusion. It is the core of Advaita Vedanta.

There is hope that the inclusion of this knowledge into the curriculum, will make Indians again familiar with their precious heritage and inspire them to do sadhana. The Bhagavad Gita gives many helpful tips regarding Jnana Yoga (yoga of knowledge), Bhakti Yoga (yoga of devotion) and Karma Yoga (yoga of action). A guru is also helpful. Bhakti surely is very helpful – to hold tight to one’s Ishta Deva for example with the help of a mantra. The different Devas are representations of the one Brahman within Maya.

Only intellectual knowledge of what we really are, is not enough. To lift our life to a higher level, we need to connect with our true Self. Then there is not only confidence in oneself as a person but, more importantly, confidence in one’s true Self which is always present and ‘stands behind us, when nobody else stands behind us’.

I wrote this article in 1990 for a German magazine. It was very well received, and the chikitsalaya in Coimbatore received lots of requests from Germans for study and treatment. Moreover, a German Hospital owner was inspired to start an Ayurveda department in one of his clinics in Kassel.
I got the idea to translate the article into English, after seeing, how Ayurveda and Baba Ramdev are criticized at present on social media. Baba Ramdev has benefitted so many people. What he has achieved so far in encouraging healthy living is admirable. He should be praised, not hounded.
Please keep in mind, this was published in December 1990, over 30 years ago.

The elderly gentleman from London, originally Indian, reacted strangely, yet typical for a growing trend: after his doctor diagnosed his problem as arthritis, he packed his suitcase and bought flight tickets for himself and his family to India. “I knew that Western medicine can’t do anything for me, and that Ayurveda will be my saviour”, he explained to me his quick and firm decision. He is sure and chances are good, that after a 5-weeks treatment he will go home healed.

Many of the other patients in the Ayurvedic clinic in Coimbatore in south India were not that quick and focused. The woman from Delhi for example suffers since decades from arthritis and manages only with the help of pain killers. “Why didn’t you come earlier?” I asked her. “Because Ayurveda just didn’t come to my mind”, was her reply. Only when a young relative had tried Ayurvedic therapy with an astonishingly good result, she planned a treatment in the clinic together with her husband.

Almost every patient knows someone, whom Ayurveda, the traditional Indian medicine system had helped, including my room-neighbor, a wealthy NRI from London. His niece had suffered since childhood from unbearable migraine. He had tried everything for her – Allopathy, Homeopathy, acupuncture – had consulted top physicians in several countries – nothing helped. Finally, he gave, without much hope, Ayurveda a chance. He came in the previous year with his niece, and what hardly was expected, happened: even before the end of the treatment, the migraine stopped and has not come back since then. Understandably, he came back this time with his wife, who has diabetes, and with his daughter, who also suffers from migraine.

After a long time, when Ayurveda was ignored and demeaned under British rule and even in independent India, the ancient ‘science of life’ gains again trust and respect – especially for chronic diseases. According to Indian media reports, the number of patients increased by 60 percent in the last 2 years (1988/89).
The surprising thing is that India’s ELITE goes back to Ayurveda, even though the British did their best during their 200-year-long rule, to wean Indians away from the ‘primitive native system’ and make them adopt the ‘modern scientific medicine system’. Maybe the British genuinely believed this, but if they did, they definitely didn’t look into the classical texts of Caraka, Vagbata or Susruta, who are authorities of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is the most ancient medical system of mankind. According to legend, it was given by God Dhanvantari to a Rishi on his request. This claim about its origin alone may have been sufficient for the British to dismiss and demean it. Patronage, financial and other support were taken away from Ayurvedic institutions and given to Allopathy. Rightly so, it seemed, as the results of modern medicine were quick and amazing. It was therefore no surprise that the western oriented elite was impressed and patronized Allopathy thereafter. The Vaidya continued to look after the poor in the villages and didn’t consider it necessary to defend the value of the indigenous system.

“What has value, will be recognized on its own. It doesn’t lose value if it is considered of no value”, an Ayurveda student opined, rather typical for the Indian mindset.
And he seems to be right. Ayurveda is being rehabilitated. This process is supported by a side, from where one wouldn’t have expected it – by the modern scientific medical research. Indian researcher found in the ancient Ayurveda texts interesting clues for medicines. They tested the mentioned recipes and their efficiency was confirmed. Medicine like Guglip against high Cholesterol or Reserpin against high blood pressure are the result of such research.

In favor of Ayurveda is the holistic, non-materialistic view of the human being.

The trust in the efficiency of the traditional system increased and with it also the readiness to study the ancient texts without prejudice. At the same time, the trust in Allopathy decreased more and more. So it doesn’t surprise, that some Indian doctors not only occasionally advised Ayurvedic medicine, but completely changed over into the Ayurveda camp. Dr Metha, founder of the renowned College for Ayurveda in in Jamnagar, Gujarat, for example was an allopathic practitioner, who has a number of British medical degrees. He surely didn’t take this step lightly, but he took it.

What is in favor of Ayurveda?

First of all, surely the inclusive, non-materialistic view of the human being. Man and universe are one, claimed Caraka over 2000 years ago. While reading the first chapter of ‘Caraka Samhita’ I almost got the impression that by mistake I was reading a book on philosophy and not on medicine.
It says: Man is in his essence pure consciousness – infinite, unchanging, eternal. From this pure consciousness appears the body and the mind with its thoughts and emotions. Even though the consciousness (Atman) is still pure and infinite, it experiences itself as localized in body and mind and therefore limited and mortal.

For Atman there is neither health nor illness. It is blissful awareness. Yet mind and body are either healthy or sick. Mind is here more important than the body. It permeates the whole body in a subtle form and is the source of our immunity.

But why does illness happen when everyone wants to be only healthy? (swasht = healthy, means to be blissfully in oneself). The answer is: because something effects mind and body which is not good for it and derails the harmony of factors which are needed for the optimal functioning.
Consequently, Ayurveda deals with what is good and what is not good for body and mind. The question is how the balance – and with-it health, vitality and joy – can be kept.

This preventive aspect is of utmost importance. It’s more important to know how one doesn’t fall sick, than to know how to heal oneself after being sick.

But since sickness cannot always be prevented, Ayurveda also has means to get back the balance and get over the suffering which is connected with sickness. Interestingly, already 2000 years ago Caraka demanded, that the therapy must not have any harmful side effects.

The framework is vast and valid today. But maybe there is a doubt: did the ancient Rishis have good-enough insight into the complex functioning of the human organisms in the light of modern science? After all, they didn’t have the technology to deeply analyze and look into the body.

It would be a worthwhile task for the modern research to find out if the Ayurvedic theories are maybe not even more appropriate than the modern scientific theories. Ayurveda makes sense, is holistic and nevertheless extremely complex and differentiated. An article cannot do justice to it, as there are no translations for the Sanskrit termini, which describe the most subtle principles and long explanations would be needed.
I read in one text that the students of Ayurveda need “to meditate deeply on the fundamental principles”. This advice presumes that a fine intuition may lead to deeper insights than a microscope. The ancient Rishis surely had a fine intuition and those knowledgeable of Ayurveda don’t doubt its theories which not only explain the constitution and functioning of the organisms, but also different psychosomatic types and their interaction with substances from the environment.

It would be for modern medicine generally a gain, if scientists would intensely research on Ayurveda. Some do it already and make waves in the medical community, for example Dr Deepak Chopra, a specialist for endocrinology in Boston. He points out that the claim by Ayurveda about the close connection between mind and body has been confirmed by the modern neurological research about so-called neurotransmitter.
Ayurveda offers itself for these new insights as a complete template – in a similar way, as India’s Vedic wisdom is seen as a consistent philosophical template for the new insights in nuclear physics.

A happy thought makes a happy molecule

Ayurveda presumes that intelligent impulses, like thoughts, express themselves as chemical molecules in the whole body. “When you have a thought, you make a molecule”, Dr Chopra puts it simply. “And if you have a happy thought, you make a happy molecule”.

Is it possible that in future, Ayurveda and Allopathy complement each other. There is hope, because not only in India but all over the world more and more doctors take interest in Ayurveda. This interest is mainly due to the initiative of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to introduce Ayurveda systematically in the West. He had asked Dr Chopra for cooperation, who agreed. Since then, Dr Chopra travels around the world and gives talks and writes several books simultaneously. (His book “Quantum Healing” is a bestseller). He is also the medical director of an Ayurveda center and the president of the “US Association for Ayur Veda Medicine”.

In India the growing interest in Ayurveda and research on it, is welcome. Yet how it is marketed in the West is criticized. “One should not make such big profit with Ayurveda”, I heard several times. And it is true: the price for Ayurvedic treatment in Maharshi’s clinics is out of proportion. 2000 to 4000 dollars for one week in USA. In comparison, a 5-week treatment in Coimbatore costs not even 400 dollars.

To live a noble and good life is the surest method to stay young and healthy.

Let’s stay with the clinic in Coimbatore for a while and look at the treatment.

At the start there is a detailed diagnosis – it the crux of Ayurveda. It’s not about finding a name for the illness, but the Vaidya should ideally “enter the heart of the patient and fully grasp his specific condition”, says Caraka. Which type he is regarding constitution and personality, which of the three basic factors – vata, pitta, kapha – disturbs the equilibrium, and where the disturbance manifests.

The treatment is in tune with the inner condition of the patient, not with the symptoms of the illness. So it is possible, that 5 patients with the same symptoms get 5 different medicines.

Firstly, through regular oil massage the body is made smooth and with the help of enemas or laxatives the intestines are cleaned, before the intense individual treatment starts which lasts for 2 weeks – usually with a lot of oil which is enriched with herbs, etc. During this time, only fresh, vegetarian food is taken and absolute rest demanded. No writing, no reading, not even going out on the veranda. Then follow 2 weeks recreation with daily oil massage.

This treatment has greatest success in illness which are in the wider sense connected with the nervous system, like arthritis, joint and back pain, migraine, sleeplessness, etc. At the same time, it strengthens the body and rejuvenates it.

As mentioned, Ayurveda puts great stress on preventive methods, which preserve health, vitality and joy of life. Apart from the time-intensive oil treatment, Ayurveda offers a lot of health elixirs, like Chawanprash, which is meanwhile also popular in Germany. But the best ‘preventive method’ according to Ayurveda is to live a good and noble life. And this advice if for everyone, independent of one’s specific constitution.

How does a good, noble life affect the health?

Ayurveda expalins that 3 subtle factors determine the mind: sattva (pure, light), rajas (active, passionate) and tamas (lazy, ignorant). Too much of rajas or tamas can produce hatred, anger, envy, jealousy etc. which in turn will influence the body in a negative way. Yet for sattva, there is no ‘too much’. Here the motto is: the more, the better.

Ayurveda claims that a disciplined, righteous, content life, which strives for the realization that we are Atma, a life, in which wealth is procured with fair means and our desires are in tune with the goal of knowing the truth, sattva increases.

This type of Ayurvedic preventive health care is even for us in the West now already available – till the treatment in the Ayurveda clinics become more affordable.

How do I come to the conclusion that certain forces want to prevent humans from knowing their divine Essence and connecting with it? By observing what happened over time and especially in the last 2 decades.

When Vedic knowledge reached the West over 250 years ago, it was praised as the greatest gift to humanity. Philosophers praised it, but also scientists, like Erwin Schroedinger, Max Planck and several others. Schroedinger often ended his lectures with “Atma is Brahman” and Max Planck said: “I regard consciousness as fundamental and matter as derivative from consciousness.

Even still in 1982, when Fritjof Capra presented at a conference in Mumbai the new paradigm of physics in tune with Bharat’s wisdom that all is interconnected, nothing is separate, all is one energy, our senses deceive us, he added: In all likelihood this energy is conscious.

I was there and heard him say it. He got a standing ovation.

In the 1970s, when I was studying at Hamburg University, “Self-realization”, “enlightenment”, “expanded consciousness” were buzzwords. Indian wisdom was seen in a good light. “India shops” sprang up with books like “Autobiography of a Yogi” by Swami Yogananda. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Osho attracted the youth.

The Church didn’t like the fascination of the youth with Bharat and appointed ‘cult observers’. They warned parents that their children may become mad, if they fall for those Indian gurus. However, the Church could not prevent a massive loss of faith among the youth. The churches became empty. Eastern wisdom was in vogue, but “Hinduism” was delinked from it.

Yes, there were many hippies who misunderstood “Indian wisdom” and copied only the long hair and the chillum of the sadhus, and not the wisdom and discipline. But generally, we Westerners felt, India had something which was badly lacking in the West. It had wisdom about who we are and what is the purpose in life. And it also still had a connection to a magical, supernatural dimension, which we so missed in the West, including snake charmers and rope trick…

In the 1970s, and even before that, Western researchers also studied the brain of Yogis, who had miraculous powers. The US army intelligence was interested to exploit those powers. They sent for example an army commander to the Bob Monroe institute to learn how to have out of body experiences. This commander wrote a highly interesting, 31-page document in 1983. It was declassified by CIA in 2003 and is on the net. (I wished Indian scientists go through this document. It validates the holographic theory of the universe and the miracles of yogis which, in Bharat, are often dismissed if not ridiculed).

In the late 1989s or 1990s, Indian newspapers reported that NASA discovered that Sanskrit is the most perfect language. This was at a time, when Indian students mostly looked down on Sanskrit.

The above points show that Vedic wisdom was appreciated in academic circles in the West earlier.

From appreciation to vilification… Why?

But then, around the year 2000, this changed.

I personally got an inkling, when in 2001, the editor of one of the German magazines to which I contributed, wrote to me, “As you must have noticed, spirituality is out. Wellness is in.”

No, I had not noticed.

Ever since, indeed, yoga and even meditation (in its popular form as ‘mindfulness’) is presented only as a means for physical and mental well-being and its full potential for liberation, Mukti, is ignored or purposely kept hidden. “Indian wisdom”, including the knowledge that this world is not the real thing but Maya (more like a dream of Brahman), went out of fashion.

Consistent with this trend, most Western philosophers today define consciousness as intimately connected with its content. They stay within Maya and seem to be unable to conceive of pure, thought-free consciousness. Now many in the West even declare that there is no such thing as absolute Truth, but “Everyone has his own truth”! Or “The goal of life is personal”. And if you follow what’s happening in the West (wokism, genderism, etc.), you may wonder if common sense has gone out of the window.

Hindus started finally shaking off the colonial mindset

Around the same time, in 2001, when I was told that spirituality is out, an important shift occurred in India. Hindus started to realise that their tradition is preferable and yes, superior, to Abrahamic religions. the internet facilitated this realization and brought like-minded Hindus together.

Promptly, and it is in all likelihood connected to this Hindu awakening and wanting to put a stop to it, Western media and academics portrayed Hindus, and especially Brahmins, falsely and perfidiously, as oppressors of minorities. Meanwhile, Hinduphobia has reached a dangerous level. Even conferences on “Dismantling Global Hindutva” and “Eradicating Hinduism” were organized.

The most inclusive faith became the target of inexplicable hatred.

Why are Hindus so much under attack? And why this down-sizing of Yoga and meditation, ignoring its full potential?

This is indeed difficult to fathom. There may be two reasons:

ONE:

The big powers want to prevent Bharat from coming up. They may fear, that if Indians study their ancient texts, and Sanskrit is easier for them, they may discover new technologies and overtake the powers that be.

Bibek Debroy claims that even after all the destruction and loot by Muslims, the British, the Jesuits, and others, there are still millions of texts in Bharat and only a fraction of it has been studied.
still, this reason may be far-fetched, as the average Western politician would probably dismiss ancient texts as irrelevant.

TWO:

It’s easier for Hindus to understand pure (content-free) consciousness and touch their Atma. There are still many Yogis in Bharat who have realized their true Self. Such people are fearless and cannot be manipulated and controlled. Certain powerful lobbies, who want to control humans, have therefore an interest that Vedic knowledge is downplayed and does not spread and become common knowledge, not even in Bharat.

One such lobby is the Vatican. But even without the danger from Vedic knowledge, people are leaving the Church in big numbers.

So, who else is interested in keeping us ignorant?

The Israeli historian Yuval Noah Harari, a prominent figure at the World Economic Forum (WEF), gave a clue: It is those who plan the “Great Reset” at WEF, Bilderberg meetings, etc.

Harari said in all earnestness that consciousness is not needed, but intelligence is needed, and robots will be more intelligent than humans. He considers belief in God and a soul as ridiculous, and probably voiced the official line of those behind the New World Order. He also suggested, that ‘all the useless people’ who will be replaced by intelligent robots, should be kept busy with computer games and drugs.

It is ominous that attempts are on to get us interested in ‘living in a metaverse’, which means in a virtual reality within this Maya. It would remove us one layer further from our divine roots, and allows us to be easier controlled – leaving us without meaning and purpose in life, without any anchor, without values…

Science cannot prove that the one energy of quantum physics is conscious. But it also cannot disprove it. So why is the theory, that consciousness is fundamental, called fringe? And why is the theory, that the brain is the real thing, respectable?

Does it make sense that there is a vast, miraculous universe which is not aware that it is? That only humans on earth temporarily know about it? Why is there this attempt to deprive human beings from finding fulfilment in life?

In this context, the spread of the Bharatiya knowledge system is very important. It may just save humanity.

Naturally, intellectual study must be backed up by sadhana. We need to connect with our Essence. Touching it even occasionally, greatly improves the quality of our life.

Something big is happening in Bharat after 500 long years. Common sense says that it should have happened much earlier. Latest in 1947, when India was partitioned on religious lines and Indians who had converted to Islam got Pakistan. At that time, it would have been natural for Hindus to get back their temples which had been destroyed by invaders and mosques built on them as symbols of dominance and supremacy.

But maybe, now is just the right time for Bharat and the world to get back the Mandir at the birthplace of Sri Ram. The reason is that Ram is an epitome of Dharma, who fought and vanquished adharmic forces – and in our times, Adharma has become exceptionally strong and also needs to be fought and vanquished.

Humanity is presently not in good shape – without roots and direction, without meaning and values. It’s called “being woke” and even portrayed as positive. It spread among Westerners and shows already some impact among young Indians.
Truth as such is now declared as non-existent, because “everyone has his own truth”. There is no objective meaning to life either, but it’s now a “personal matter”.
Humans are dumbed down with junk food, drugs and low-grade entertainment, which only benefits the producers.
The belief in a Supreme Being and a soul has been ridiculed by “renowned” philosophers and scientists, like Yuval Noah Harari or Stephen Hawking.
And many more terrible things, which were up to now hidden, are coming to light thanks to the alternative media and whistle blowers.
The worst of these things, is probably the massive scale of child trafficking – for sex abuse, organ and blood harvesting and even for ritualistic “sacrifice” (means murder) to propitiate demonic forces by members of secret societies, who hold powerful positions on top of the pyramid. It’s all so unbelievable, but several whistleblowers have been silenced after speaking up, and this sadly gives them credence.

The eternal strife between Devas and Asuras is well underway in this world of Maya, and the Asuras seem to have the upper hand. Lust, anger and greed – the three gates to the hell of self-destruction according to Sri Krishna (Bh.G 16.21) – are rampant. Clearly, attempts are made to cut off humans from Atma, their divine Self – the worst thing that can possibly happen.

In midst of this dark scenario, Bharat is still a beacon of light, even though Kali Yug shows its effect here, too. Yet most Indians still have faith in their Hindu Dharma. They still know about their divine core (Atma) and have devotion for the Devas.

In Bharat, Devas are worshipped, not Asuras

Bharat is the only place on earth, where daily in many thousand temples the Devas are worshipped for the well-being of ALL, and NOT the Asuras or Satanic forces for personal wealth, power and sense-enjoyment. Every morning and evening the temples reverberate with the Arati for the Lord of the world (Om jaya Jagatdisha hare) or for the Deities of the particular temple, who are all essentially one with the ONE Great Brahman or Sat-Chit-Ananda – blissful Consciousness.

The Deities are not somewhere in heaven, but present in the temple due to Pran Pratishtha having been performed, where the stone idol is infused with Prana, the divine life-force.

And now, on 22. January 2024, a most special Pran Pratishtha will be performed: Sri Ram will become a living Presence in the newly-constructed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Ayodhya – the name evokes great emotions in Hindus.

Ayodhya is the place where Ram was born, and grew up with his brothers Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughna; where the sage Vashishta taught them the ancient wisdom, and sage Vishwamitra took Ram and his brother Lakshman to fight malevolent Asuras.
It is the place, where he brought Sita as his wife from Janakpur; from where he, Sita and Lakshman left for his long exile on the very same day, when his coronation was planned.
It is the place where his father died of grief over the separation from his dearest son; where his brother Bharat ruled, putting the padukas of Ram on the throne… and to which Ram returned with Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman after he had defeated the demon king Ravana in Lanka, and established the benevolent Ram Rajya.

Every Hindu knows the details of Ram’s life. The Ramayana is ingrained in them. It is played on village stages, chanted in ashrams and was an absolute hit on TV. It is a sacred scripture that contains all that one needs to know to live a dignified life, and to behave in an ideal way in midst of challenges.
Sri Ram is an outstanding example for humans – noble, just, brave, ever protecting the weak, and keeping his word.

And he is dearly beloved.

Hindus fought for 500 years for getting back Sri Ram’s birthplace

Therefore, is there any question at all why Hindus fought for 500 years to get back this very special place and sacrificed so much? They fought not only against the invaders. In recent decades, they also had to fight against their own people – scheming politicians, communists and former Hindus who had converted to Islam, who all denied that Ram was real and that there was a Mandir earlier.

Yet this is now past, finally.

Bharat is in a celebratory mood. Many Hindus have taken vows in the run-up to Pran Pratishtha, to purify themselves for the historic occasion. Japa of the Ram Mantra is done and devotional bhajans are sung or listened to.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be a witness of the Pran Pratishtha on behalf of 140 crore Bharatiyas, too, has announced that he will follow certain rituals for 11 days prior to the Pran Pratishtha because – in his own words – “I have to awaken divine consciousness in myself, too”. As Prime Minister, he has tremendous responsibility. He surely needs and will ask for guidance from Prabhu Sri Ram.

There is a good chance, that western media will criticise PM Modi for being so unapologetically Hindu. They may wonder, what it is about Hindu Dharma which makes people stick to it, in spite of all the negative propaganda against it by the Abrahamic religions, by communists and media. Why are the attacks on Hinduism from all sides not working as planned? Why do now even more Hindus again treasure their heritage? Why do even many foreigners consider Hindu Dharma as the best option for humanity and the world?

The answer is easy: Hindu Dharma is based on Truth and righteous living. It tells us who we really are in our essence (eternal Atma). And in this temporary world of Maya, it is on the side of Devas, who want to liberate us from Maya by realising our divine consciousness, and not on the side of those, who want to drive us deeper into ignorance and bondage.

Yet there is still a big challenge for Bharat: How to make those Indians who have been massively indoctrinated to look down on the faith of their Hindu ancestors – either by their newly adopted religions or by the education system – also see this truth?

Hopefully, Shri Ram gives Sadbuddhi to all.
And may all feel His Divine Presence in their hearts….

Satyameva Jayate
Jai Sri Ram
